1. Overview
The idea of installing an Operating System (OS) such as Windows 10 Or Ubuntu Desktop using a USB flash drive is very famous now. It probably because the OS file size is bigger now and also the new version of computers does not have CD ROM come along with.
There are several tools that we can use to create a bootable USB flash drive for an Operating System (OS), but now let use a tool called Rufus.
In this article will show you how to create a USB flash drive installer for Windows 10 using Rufus. Rufus is applicable to create a USB flash drive installer for almost all of the Operating System (OS) types.
2. Prerequisites
In this article, it is presumed that:
a. You are already have Image ISO file of Windows 10.
b. You have a flush drive that least with 4GB of space size.
3. Creating USB Flash Drive Installer for Windows 10
Rufus is a standalone utility that it is not required to install it, just need to download it from https://rufus.akeo.ie, and run it. The interface of this wonderful tool is look something as the following.
After plug in a USB flash drive, we will see it under “Device” section. In our case now, I had plugged in a 8 GB USB flash drive name “TechSpaceKh” with drive latter is (F:). Next select “ISO Image” from the drop down list, click on CD ROM icon, and browse to the folder where your Windows 10 image ISO file is located. Enter any name as the volume label and click on “Start”.
A warning message telling that all data on your USB flash drive will be lost appears as the following. Make sure that you already copy out your data from that USB flash to some where else. Click “OK” to proceed creating USB flash drive installer for Windows 10.
4. Booting Windows 10 From USB Flash Drive Installer
After the process of creating USB flash drive installer for Windows 10 had finished, unplug the USB flash drive and plug it into the computer that you are about to install Windows 10 on it. Power it on and press “F12” for as list boot menu.
The boot menu may look vary from computer to computer depend on the BIOS vendor. Choose USB option from the list and press enter.
Soon after that, the Windows 10 Operating Systems will be booted up from the USB flash drive and it should look something as the following screen.
